Power Automate Approval Timeouts & Escalations

I recently had a colleague ask me how they can re-route approvals when someone is out of the office for an extended period of time, like on vacation. One way to address this situation is to use the combination of the Timeout Duration setting that exists within the Approvals action and then using the Configure run after settings that allows you to follow a specific path in your flow when the previous action has timed out.

The scenario that will be discussed in the following YouTube video involves an expense claim process where we have a 1st level approval that will timeout. However, the flow will detect this and route the approval to 2nd level approver.
